Description
The OMG X-Wing is a toggle fastener for attaching insulation to a variety of decks including gypsum, cementitious wood fiber, and lightweight insulating concrete decks.
The X-Wing is designed specifically for use with an OMG Extra Heavy Duty (XHD) fastener and a standard 3-in. (75 mm) insulation plate, both sold separately.
The OMG X-Wing is not designed for attaching roof membrane under any conditions.
A ¾-in. (20 mm) pilot hole must be drilled entirely through the deck. Using a screw gun,* drive the fastener until the wing is drawn up against the underside of the deck and the attachment is tight. The fastener must be long enough to allow a minimum of 1½-in. (38 mm) clearance on the underside of the deck in order for the wing to open. Not recommended for securing with fasteners less than 4-in. (100 mm) long.
OMG X-Wings are provided unassembled in quantities of 1,000 pieces.
